With more than 200km of marked hiking routes, Damüls is one of the most popular hiking regions in Vorarlberg. The offer ranges from easy round hikes to hut tours with panoramic views. Let yourself be inspired by our lush alpine upland moors, enjoy the view from impressive mountain peaks, refresh yourself in the cool water of our clear mountain lakes or marvel at the blooming alpine meadows. With your Bregenzerwald-Card the entrance to the mountain world is secured. With this card you can use free of charge all the mountain railroads, buses and open-air swimming pools in the region as often as you like. No matter which mountain experience you choose, you will definitely remember it for a long time.

Hiking village Damüls

In spring 2021, Damüls will join the Association of Austrian Hiking Villages and be awarded the Austrian hiking seal of quality.

According to this occasion, we have also decided to have the Hertehof certified as a qualified hiking hotel.

The mountains and nature are our home and with a lot of passion we are looking forward to bring that also closer to you.

Whether you enjoy hiking or mountaineering, at the Hertehof in Damüls your hike begins right on our doorstep at 1600 meters. If you are missing a part of your equipment, it is no problem. Telescopic poles, backpack, rain protection and hiking maps can be borrowed free of charge. Through our membership in the BERGaktiv Club you have the possibility to climb the peaks of the mountains in a sociable hiking group up to 5 times a week with a local certified hiking guide.

Some of the hiking highlights are the Damülser Rundtour, the exploration of the flower nature trail, the climbing of the Damülser Mittagsspitze and the visit of one of the many alps. A recommendation: Take a piece of mountain cheese from one of the alpine dairies home with you.

Bregenzerwald Card

From 3 overnight stays on you will receive from us the Bregenzerwald Card for free.

With this card you can use free of charge the mountain cable cars, public swimming pools and as well the public transport in the region. You also receive numerous discounts at partner establishments.

BERGaktiv hiking guide

The hiking region Damüls offers a rich hiking program with hiking guides of BERGaktiv. The program includes half and full day hikes, botanical walks, sunrise and sunset hikes and much more.

We are a member of BERGaktiv, so you can take advantage of all offered hikes for free.

Huts and Alps

In Damüls there are numerous alpine huts to explore. Enjoy a fresh glass of milk or a aromatic Bregenzerwald mountain cheese. Watch the cows graze or get a small insight into the cheese production, an experience that simply belongs to a summer vacation in the mountains. Depending on the snow conditions, the Alps are open at the beginning/middle of June and occupied until around mid-September.

Explore Damüls by bike. Our enviroment is ideal as a varied and challenging mountain bike area. Bicycles and e-bikes can be rented in the surrounding sports stores. Further information

Forest Rope Garden

Do you like climbing? Then you are at the right spot! The forest ropes course offers something for everyone from young to old. Here you can master six different courses and even rush over the valleys with a Flying Fox. Deffinitely an unique experience for the whole family and in the immediate vicinity are a barbecue area, sports and playground, beach volleyball, slackline, fitness course, a kiosk and toilets.

Seewaldsee and swimming

Really close we’ve got the beautifully situated Seewaldsee. On foot or with a strolling train you can reach the clear bathing lake on 1200 meters above the sea level. One of the most popular excursion destinations in our region. With two restaurants, it also takes care of your physical well-being. www.seewaldsee.at

Model flight

With our own airfield and many different take-offs in close proximity, we are the perfect place for enthusiastic model pilots. With several handicraft and storage rooms as well as our own "Fliegerlstüble" with a flight simulator, there is nothing missing to live out your great hobby. Motorcycle

You can start the most beautiful tours perfectly from Damüls. We are located in the heart of Vorarlberg and therefore ideally situated for your tours in all directions such as over the Furka Pass, Hochtannberg Pass, Arlberg Pass, Silvretta High Alpine Road and many more. You can park your motorcycle in our underground car park and we also have our own cleaning station for your machine. For information and route / tour planning we are happy to help you.
